No pressure here. Ha!
The Airstream Overlander 1969 model was designed originally with the door towards the front (hitch side). I am considering keeping it there however I am also thinking of moving it to the rear which is the more contemporary solution Airstream is using today.
To me it shouldn't matter too much as long as there is ample natural light in the living area. If needed I can always add windows.
I like the idea of having less built ins and more furniture which will allow flexibility in the future (and less cost and work). We will see if that idea holds up though.
I actually love designing and I love sketching a million ideas and iterations but in my experience what looks good on paper doesn't always look so good in real space. That is the one benefit of renovating versus new construction. You can explore the ideas in the actual space and see how they feel and look. My designer eye is very good at seeing those things (realizing not everyone has that gift). So, once I actually get the Airstream on my lot I will dig deeper and come up with a few finalists in terms of layout and design.
I will share those as I get closer.
